Regulatory and Standards Compliance |
Our Donors and facility are fully compliant, not only with Health Canada and the Semen Regulations, but also with the Assisted Human Reproduction (AHR) Act of 2004. We have yearly inspections by Health Canada and we have always been found compliant. The AHR Act allows sperm banks and physicians / clinic to continue the distribution of donated specimens already processed and stored and to process new specimens from altruistic Donors who are reimbursed for reasonable expenses related to their donation.
For more information regarding the AHR Act, please visit the Health Canada AHR-Frequently Asked Questions website, which addresses the distribution of semen specimens under the new law:

ReproMed currently offers the only 100% compliant donor semen samples in Canada. In Canada, the regulations prohibit payment to semen and egg donors and allow only reimbursement of reasonable expenses. This is different than other countries that still export samples to Canada where payments are still allowed. Our donor population is highly selected and altruistically motivated group who want to help others build their families.
