Since 1990, ReproMed has been providing sperm banking services throughout Canada, the United States, Latin America, and abroad. ReproMed has maintained a premier position in the field of freezing human sperm due to its stringent quality control, innovative research, and personal approach to fertility treatment. This expertise allows ReproMed to offer the following programs:
Donor Semen Specimens (both Anonymous and Open-ID samples available) All specimens are quarantine released, come from highly screened donors, have the highest quality, and compliant for use under the Canadian Semen Regulation. Patients can take part in our Data Assisted Donor Selection (D.A.D.S™) consultation with a fertility specialist for assistance in the selection process. Additional items available to some donors include: Donor Profiles, Donor Photos, Photo Scans, detailed Keirsey Temperament Reporst, and MP3 Voice Recordings.
Designated or Known Donor: This procedure is where you ask someone known to you to become your personal donor. The donor and specimens are screened and quarantined for your use only.
Sperm Storage: Allows patients to freeze and store their own semen for future use. This service is of high interest to cancer patients (prior to undergoing radiation, chemotherapy, or medication), pre-vasectomy patients, high risk occupations (such as firefighters, police officers, military soldiers, and professional athletes), pre-surgery patients or those about to undergo medical treatments, and scenarios of extended travel or the absence of male partner during ovulation time.
All programs are run in full compliance with applicable FDA/Health Canada Semen Regulations and the Assisted Human Reproduction (AHR) Act. ReproMed is licensed by Health Canada as a processor, distributor, importer, and exporter of human semen for assisted reproduction.
As pioneers in the field of sperm banking in Canada, ReproMed's staff continues to keep the community informed of our activities and discoveries as we seek new and more effective means for: freezing, storing, transporting and tracking the clinical success of frozen sperm. Our Medical Advisory Committee actively provides ongoing medical and technical advice in this area. Its members have experience and expertise in genetics, infertility, urology, assisted reproduction, cryobiology, psychology, law, and religion. Although we've helped make the use of frozen sperm in assisted reproductive procedures a commonplace, we continually work to refine the methods of freezing and storing of human eggs, ovarian tissue, and embryos. Our goal, as the leader in the field of cryopreservation, is to use the expertise and knowledge we have gained to give life to others.
